The psychosexual development of a child as defined by Electra/Oedipus complexes, is exactly that: complex. Unaware and incapable of understanding erogenous zones within the body programmed by nature to procreate, a child's psycho/social development could, if not guided by tenderness understanding and morality, lead to neurosis, pedophilia, and homosexuality. When parents, relatives, or those acting in loco parentis, are subject to such divergences, children in their care may also imbibe similar symptoms early in their Electra/Oedipal stage of growth by a "see do" mother/father fixation, and especially.... if they are tampered with sexually.
Whether or not we accept Freud's theory of repressed memory as an unconscious act, conscious repression cannot be denied. "I don't want to talk about it," is an extension of "I don't want to think about it." Not wanting to think about bad experiences such as sexual abuse or rape, is a mechanism which bolsters sanity and permits life to continue. Freud was first to suggest that the mechanism backfires. The violation may appear to be forgotten but lurks beneath the consciousness affecting thought, desire, action, and causing a myriad of psychological and physical problems from bulimia to insomnia to suicide.....and socio/psychopathy.
Freud's research pointed to paralysis, palsy and other serious diseases as possible results of repressed memory. Our own experience as observers in the Iskcon cult needs no speculation as to cause and effect.
When Iskcon's Child Protection Office (CPO) was under the auspices of Dhira Govinda Das, he prepared a meticulous report after investigating abuse at the cult's Bhaktivedanta Gurukula in Mayapur, Bengal, India. What his examination of the "J/11" (1991) report" revealed, was three generations of active pedophiles in one school alone. Instead of appreciating his brave efforts in bringing matters to light so children could be exorcised of ghosts that crept into their beds at night, his services were terminated. We do believe that it was Dhira Govinda Das' report which finally notified the world of a serious sociopath cluster operating within the Iskcon confines. Here below we present two links, one to an article by Dhira Govinda Das, and another to a report by a member closely associated with his endeavors. Both papers give a startling view into an institution purporting to be beneficial to society, and claiming government concessions globally based on that premise:
NB. Articles that appear derogatory to Iskson's status quo are being systematically removed from the web. It is impossible to give any guarantee on links being active.
Following the CPO report, Iskson's GBC realized that Jack was out the box, so they invited abused pupils to speak at the North American AM meeting (1996) at Alachua, Florida. Here is an excerpt:
>>According to Bharata Shrestha prabhu's report entitled, "ISKCON's Response to Child Abuse: 1990-1998," (ISKCON Communications Journal, Volume 6, No 1, June 1998).
"In May 1996, at the North American GBC meeting in Alachua, Florida. Here a group of former gurukula pupils, invited to speak by the leadership, detailed case after case of heart wrenching suffering at the hands of school authorities which reduced the entire audience of educators to tears. Virtually every former student (these included those who had attended schools over the last twenty years) at the conference was either a witness or a victim. Children suffered denial of medical care for life-threatening illnesses, serious bruises and contusions, lost teeth, broken noses, scarring from caning, repeated sexual abuse and even homosexual rape at knifepoint. The perpetrators of these very serious crimes were none other than the Teachers, the ashram leaders, the administrators, and in some cases even sannyasis and ISKCON gurus.<<
As readers are aware, on 25th Oct. 2001, attorney Windle Turley brought a child-abuse case before the District Court on behalf of 44 claimants. Over time the amount of claimants grew to 500 plus. What our readers also know is - NOT A SINGLE ABUSER/PEDOPHILE WAS PUT ON TRIAL, they all escaped via a smoke and mirrors Chapter 11 Bankruptcy proviso and REMAIN active within the cult to date. Here is an excerpt from a recent posting which shows that predators named in the lawsuit still hold positions of influence within the institution, and like the one in point, operate at the same locus in quo.
>>Most regretfully, the present design for the Vedic Planetarium at Sri Mayapur doesn't represent Srila Prabhupada's specific descriptions. It will only show a few spheres on the air running in orbits.... that's all. This is what Bhavananda dasa personally WANTS for the Vedic Planetarium. He directly told me that HIS is the final word.<<
If there is anyone out there who thinks Iskcon's GBC has an ecclesiastical invocation that cures pedophilia, think again. Here is what the medical faculty from Coalinga (the best known facility for research and implementation of programs for pedophilia) have concluded, and which we present, yet again:
>>Though no consensus exists as to whether paedophilia is genetic or environmental in origin, therapists at Coalinga agree that it can’t really be cured. There is evidence to suggest that a sexual attraction to children may be an “orientation” and no easier to reprogramme in a person than, say, heterosexuality.<<
Another mind-blasting fact that emerged from the BBC report on Coalinga, was that in its history of existence only thirteen inmates have been released, and even though castration was accepted as proviso for release, a strict monitoring programme (for life) was imposed.
So we ask: what are the pedophiles in Iskcon doing for kicks these days? It took several years and some bravado to expose the cluster; now, when they are twice as canny, and even more zealously protected by corporate concerns, who is watching them?
Finally we approach the gist of this posting, which is to address an area of sociopathic activity obscured in the shadows of the US lawsuit. Mr. Windle Turley, indirectly pointed to this ogre when he detailed his plea to the District Court in Dallas. Here it is: "A substantial portion of the events giving rise to the claims asserted therin occurred in Dallas County, Texas." What this tells us unequivocally is that the two largest schools in Iskcon (Mayapur India & Vrindavan India) were not investigated as a source for the suit, but that the suit was brought forward by an association of US claimants targeting a substantial portion of events at the Dallas facility. Unless we believe that Iskcon's sociopaths have a penchant for underaged Americans (a ridiculous thought,) we must accept that pedophiles were active in India, with Indian children. This practical deduction would blow the total of 500 victims out the water. Besides, we believe that pedophilia (read Dhira Govinda Das' report) was more rampant, protected, widespread, and blatant, in Indian gurukulas than in any other educational institution on the planet. And we can explain why.
Predators belong to all walks of life. Many are from highly respected professions. They may live lives as pathological liars, but do so with a great deal of applied intelligence. With focus and determination, sociopaths work their way into situations that leave victims exposed to predation. This can be seen in a brief study of the Iskcon scenario. So when we look at Indian legislation in regards to pedophilia, we should know pedophiles are also aware that no specific laws exist in the constitution, or none that needs cause concern. It is why we believe they are clustered in India. We have posted stats below.
Besides, Indian children are deeply family oriented. They would rather repress memory than involve members in matters of shame. In an extension of that fact, Indian families are closely knit into village communities; any controversy bringing shame to the family reflects on the village. If predation becomes overbearing or practiced on a child who breaks down, the family would rather accept apologies with promises and a few dollars rather than face the humiliation of public exposure. Abusers attached to embedded institutions that have successfully infiltrated Indian society know this, and bring with them a sophisticated network and MO that further obfuscates crime and detection.
When India's 'child bride' tradition was targeted, misunderstood maligned and misinterpreted by foreign press, the Government took action and abolished the practice. In a recent discussion with Indian law enforcement officers, we asked why the Indian legislators had not come up to speed on laws protecting children from pedophiles. We were informed that legislation is based on reported cases, and there was no volume of pedophile reports in India to suggest laws be revamped.
Based on the answer received, we appeal to the man whom we believe to be India's next Prime Minister; a brahmacari; devout; a Chief Minister, whose affection for children is demonstrated in his State of Gujarat where he donates a monthly quota of free grain to families with children, and to families who have girls, he has made the unprecedented distinction of showing favor by supplying them extra- "We want our girls to be strong."
Dear Narendra Modi ji (NaMo),
It would appear that there is a huge chasm of difference between fact and what Indian legislators believe to be the case. Before going any further, allow us to define what constitutes child abuse as per the World Health Organization (WHO.) This internationally accepted clarification will keep us on the same page.
Firstly, child abuse is malum prohibitum sexual behavior with a child:- involving a child in sexually activity that he or she does not fully comprehend, is unable to give informed consent to, or that violates the laws and social taboos of society. To specifically detail what this means, the WHO has tabled six areas defining violation (or as Freud would say.... leading to repressed memory) :
1) Fondling a child's genitals.
2) Making the child fondle the adult's genitals.
3) Intercourse, incest, rape, sodomy, exhibitionism and sexual exploitation.
4) Inducement or coercion of a child in unlawful activity.
5) The exploitative use of a child in prostitution or other unlawful sexual practices.
6) The exploitative use of children in pornographic performances and materials.
Before taking a look at existing laws (or lack thereof,) allow us to present some stats which appear to have eluded both Indian Law Enforcement and Legislators:
According to field studies conducted by the Ministry of Women and Children Development (India,) 53.22% children in India are reported to be sexually abused. In the same study, out of the numbers mentioned, 50% were abused by people they knew or were held in a position of trust and responsibility....just like in Iskcon. According to UNICEF, across the world, more than 150 million girls and 70 million boys have witnessed forced sexual intercourse or other forms of violence involving physical contact. Allow us to bring these stats closer to home: about 19% of the world's children live in India constituting 42% of India's population. Heartbreaking figures Sir, would you agree?
What the stats do not reveal is the exploitation of Indian children by foreigners, those who travel the Asian circuit, networking and sharing information which includes knowledge of legislation (or lack thereof) when targeting minors and considering the repercussions. Nor do the stats reveal sociopaths within religious institutions who enjoy an orchestrated, and even government protected, liberty to indulge their aberrations.
Mr. Thierry Darnaudet, CEO for Action Pour Les Enfants (APLE,) who has a home/shelter in Kolkata, Bengal, is constantly under attack by this band of marauding sociopaths. He is fully conversant with this dark underworld; its underbelly, and can enlighten you should you seek to understand.
Now we must address why the abuse rate of children in India is so alarming. To this end, we needs look no further than existing laws, or the only existing laws that can be applied Id Est, in abuse of a minor:
i) IPC Section 347- "wrongful confinement." A person found guilty is punished with imprisonment which can extend up to three years maximum and a fine.
ii) Central Government Act. Section 372- "selling minor for the purpose of prostitution." A person found guilty can be imprisoned for a maximum ten years with/without fine.
Neither of these two laws encompass what constitutes child abuse as per the WHO. Further, when we understand the variety of depravation that exists, and can destroy the psychosexual development of a child WITHOUT PENETRATIVE SEX, Section 347 of the IPC is toothless. As for Central Government Act. Section 372, albeit tantamount to curbing slave trade in minors, is archaic in relation to what defines sexual exploitation today.
The only specific existing legislation under which child sexual abuse might be prosecuted in India, comes under the Goa Children's Act of 2003.
Goa Children's Act, 2003:
• I.P.C. (1860) 375- Rape
• I.P.C. (1860) 354- Outraging the modesty of a woman
• I.P.C. (1860) 377- Unnatural offences
• I.P.C. (1860) 511- Attempt
These laws have gaping loopholes, i.e., (a) IPC 375 does not protect male victims, or anyone, from sexual acts of penetration other than "traditional" peno-vaginal intercourse. It is useless in the light of known sexual perversions and experimentations in practice. (b) IPC 354 makes no mention of outraging the modesty of a male child. Besides, it does not define modesty, or distinguish between a "woman" and a "child," and the penalty is so weak it does not rate a mention. (c) IPC 377 does not clarify what is meant by "unnatural offences." Other than being applicable to victims penetrated by an attacker's sex act, it has nothing to do with the sexual abuse of children. Furthermore, and clearly so, these laws are not specific to children's needs; they have no provisos for repeat offenders; there is no distinction re. teenagers engaging in sex with each other; there are no provisos for bailable and non-bailable offences, nor is there mention of the basic premise- what constitutes the age of a minor?
The only ray of sunshine we see regards the Indian situation is that due to neglect in upgrading child abuse laws, the Government has also neglected to impose a Statute of Limitations on claims. For the Iskcon chapter, this leaves consequences wide open and upended.
Mr. Chief Minister, Sir, should you decide to bring justice home for those who were abused over the years as children, who are now young adults, possibly crippled by years of subjugation entrapment and sexual slavery as children, do not fail to contact us. The BIF team are ardent supporters of your "Narendra Modi for PM" campaign. Your agenda is ours, your success is ours. We have contacts close to you. All you need do is request and we will present files and documents that can prise the case for justice wide open.
Thanking You, Sir.
For our readers. FYI: Recognize your local sociopath.
